Candidates Profiles
Director from the Faculty of Business
Rachel Martin
As a candidate, I want to take on this role because I believe Durham College should be a place where every student feels supported, heard, and prepared for their future career. If elected, one of my main priorities would be creating stronger connection between students, faculty, and employers. I would also want to focus on making students feel that their voices are heard and matter by bringing any and all student concerns forward. Overall, I am interested in this position because I want to be someone who represents students, and works to turn their ideas into meaningful improvements for the College.

I’ve always been happiest outside, building, fixing, and growing.
On campus, I found that learning from experts in the industry who’ve done the work for real was the opportunity that everyone had access to but not always knew about.
As someone who shows up, listens first and advocates for a better tomorrow. I wish to bridge that gap between the students and the available resources.
I believe that the future is hands-on and I am leading by example.
