Durham College Epilepsy Association (DCEA)

Welcome to Durham College Epilepsy Association!

We are a group working in collaboration with Epilepsy Durham Region to provide information, support and education about Epilepsy in our Durham College community! Epilepsy is a common neurological disease characterized by the tendency to have recurrent seizures, and is sometimes called a seizure disorder, which affects 1 in 100 people worldwide. Getting this diagnosis at first can be scary, as seizures are often unpredictable, and other things like neurologists, medication and driving become apart of this new adjustment.

That is why we are here!

We wanted to create a group where individuals going through a diagnosis of Epilepsy or seizure disorder, or those who are passionate about learning more about Epilepsy have a space to come and share and create a support system within Durham College! Together, we can help others to live well with Epilepsy.
